Garmin has now released the Fenix E, an adjunct to the Fenix 8 that debuted today. For reference, the Fenix E is $100 cheaper than the Enduro 3, Garmin's other new smartwatch. Incidentally, the Fenix E only comes in one size, just like theEnduro 3.

Specifically, Garmin has decided to offer the Fenix E with a 47 mm case size, compared to the 43 mm and 51 mm sizes in which the Fenix 8 is also available. As the images below show, Garmin sells the Fenix E in two finishes, which it describes as 'Slate Grey Steel' and 'Stainless Steel'; both variants ship with a black silicone band, though.

Contrary to pre-release leaks, Garmin has actually equipped the Fenix E with an AMOLED display, which spans 1.3-inches across while outputting at 416 x 416 pixels. As a result, the Fenix E offers sixteen days of battery life in smartwatch mode, two days fewer than the standard Fenix 7(curr. $515.99 on Amazon). This battery life drop-off expands with GPS activated for the most part, other than when using all satellite systems and music functionality.

Ultimately, the Fenix E is closer to the Fenix 7 than the Fenix 8 in many areas. As such, the Fenix E misses out on Garmin ECG and multi-band GPS, as well as an LED flashlight and a depth sensor. On top of that, Garmin has dropped its skin temperature functionality; please see Garmin's comparison page for more differences between the Fenix 7, Fenix 8, and the Fenix E. Currently, the Fenix E is orderable in the US for $799.99. By contrast, the smartwatch sells for£689.99 in the UKand€799.99 in the Eurozone.
