PYUSD's issuer Paxos celebrated the feat, highlighting how fast the stablecoin crossed the important mark when compared to its peers, USD Coin (USDC) and Tether USD (USDT).

PayPal’s stablecoin, pegged to the U.S. dollar and dubbed PYUSD, has crossed the $1 billion market cap threshold in less than a year since its launch.

On Aug. 24, PYUSD's issuer Paxos highlighted the achievement in an X (formerly Twitter) post. The stablecoin began trading on Aug. 29, 2022.

CoinGecko data shows that PYUSD took 351 days to cross the billion threshold, outpacing peers such as USD Coin (USDC) and Tether USD (USDT), which took 616 and 1024 days, respectively.
