Garmin Fenix 8 unboxing footage shows AMOLED display and more hardware upgrades

Garmin is still remaining quiet about the prospect of replacing the Fenix 7 series. Nonetheless, various leaks in the last few days have showcased not just the Fenix 8, but also the Fenix E and a possible Enduro 3.

Now, photos and videos from several sources have revealed what appear to be final Fenix 8 smartwatches rather than prototype examples. Based on numerous Reddit posts, it appears Garmin has already sent retail units to third parties. Consequently, a global release looks imminent, presumably later this week.

Moreover, the footage shown below highlights a few of the upgrades that Garmin hopes will distinguish the Fenix 8 from the likes of the Fenix 7S(curr. $649.99 on Amazon). Specifically, Garmin has equipped the Fenix 8 series with slimmer bezels than older models, which should facilitate the inclusion of larger displays within the same overall form factor.
