Anker is reportedly working on a successor to the 749 Anker Prime 240W GaN Desktop Charger (4 Ports) launched last year. According to a Reddit post by u/joshuadwx, many features remain the same, though the four ports differ.
The new desktop charger will feature four USB-C ports rather than three USB-C and one USB-A. The maximum output stays capped at 240W, and only one of the USB-C ports can deliver up to 140W power. Presumably, the other USB-C ports will offer up to 100W like the older model. However, how the power is distributed when multiple ports are in use still needs to be clarified. Other unknowns include the dimensions and weight of the device. For context, the 749 measures 104.5 x 78.4 x 33.8 mm (~4.11 x 3.09 x 1.33 inches) and weighs 23.14 oz (~656 g).
A release date and pricing for the new Anker Desktop Charger have yet to be revealed; as an indication, the older model is currently available for $139.99, though it launched with a retail price of $159.99. It is worth noting that the ports and outputs for this new accessory seem to be identical to the upcoming Anker 150W Wall Charger, though the total maximum outputs are different.
