Nearly all large Irish supermarkets require a €1 or €2 coin to unlock a trolley before you do your big shop.
While this is understandable, it can also be a nuisance considering we live in an age where laser cards and Apple pay are the future.
We can often rock up to your local with just your phone and wallet, with no change.
Now one woman revealed how you don't necessarily need a coin for your next food shop.
In a post on Instagram, user @lookinsidemygarden, who boasts 150,000 fans, wrote: "I can't believe this worked."
She added: "Does anyone else get to the supermarket and forgot your coin? Or like me your special coin keyring sometimes doesn't work.
"So I thought I would try my luck and BOOM, we're in."
Happy with the amazing results, the social media user concluded: "Now I can fill my trolley with 26,000 snacks for another week of the holiday munches!"
In the short video, the woman can be seen using just a standard key to access the trolley at Lidl.
Over the clip, it also read: "No trolley coin, no problem..."
Since it was posted, it garnered thousands of likes and comments with many people eager to try it for themselves.

One suggested: "Use the key at the othe r end, it thinks it's a coin. Been doing this years."
While another admitted: "I've always been scared to do that in case my key breaks."
Then a third chimed in: "Nice! Have to remember this. My Aldi quarter lives in my cars cup holder. No one is allowed to touch it."
