Apple iPhone sales plummeted 19% in China in the first quarter: worst result since 2020

Apple's ranking in the fiercely competitive Chinese market fell to third place, roughly the same as Huawei. However, Huawei's sales increased by nearly 70%, clearly seizing the high-end market that Apple dominated in the past. The entire market grew by about 1.5%, with local brands such as Honor and Xiaomi leading the growth.

Counterpoint senior analyst Ivan Lam said that Huawei’s products have directly affected Apple’s performance in the high-end market, and Apple’s quarterly sales have been suppressed. In addition, consumer demand for Apple replacement phones has declined slightly compared with previous years.
