5G mobile phones are becoming mainstream in India, with 5G mobile phone shipments accounting for more than 50% in both the fourth quarter and the full year of 2023.
For the whole of 2023, India’s smartphone shipments fell slightly by 1% to 146.5 million units. Xiaomi, vivo, and Samsung rank in the top three, followed by OPPO and realme.
Some institutions predict that the Indian smartphone market will continue to grow by single-digit percentages in 2024. Vendors to watch include Transsion, Xiaomi, Apple and OnePlus.
