IT House News on August 19, the US government recently issued an emergency notice requiring federal employees to update the Samsung Galaxy mobile phone system before August 28, otherwise they will be banned from using these devices. IT House noted that this is another emergency action after requiring Pixel mobile phone users to update the system in July.
The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has listed these two vulnerabilities in the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) directory. Due to the severity and potential harm of the vulnerability, the government requires federal employees to complete system updates within 21 days.
While this notification is currently only for federal government employees, as many organizations and businesses follow government security standards, all Galaxy phone owners are advised to install the August security update as soon as possible.
