1. Two police departments in Missouri are participating in a pilot project to integrate the Z Flip into daily law enforcement work, marking the first time a foldable phone has been used as a police body camera.

In order to meet the needs of police officers, Samsung collaborated with Visual Labs to customize the phone:

• Remap the external volume keys to emergency recording start keys.
• Automatically start recording when a vehicle is being chased or police lights are turned on.

Recorded videos can be instantly uploaded to the cloud through Visual Labs’ software.

1. Samsung said that the folding design of the Z Flip series phones makes them easy to carry, can clearly record arrests and other interaction details, and improve evidence collection and transparency.

2. In addition to being a law enforcement recorder, it can also be used to capture crime scene evidence, record evidence, and locate police officers through GPS.
3. Currently, this solution has been rolled out to 25 metropolitan police departments in five states. Samsung said it will continue to work on providing relevant tools to more U.S. police departments.
