Huawei CEO Richard Yu was photographed last week on an plane using Huawei's yet-to-be-announced tri-fold smartphone. The concept was clearly visible, as were the two display folds. Now,cnBetahas just published the image embedded below, which once again shows the Huawei CEO with the tri-fold smartphone.
This time, the device is shown fully folded, making it roughly the size of a conventional flagship smartphone. The large round camera module is reminiscent of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The two hinges differ in color from the otherwise black smartphone. Apparently, the smartphone is opened so that the front third of the display sits on the back; in order to access the full surface, it must be folded forward.
If the software allows it, the Huawei tri-fold smartphone could be used either as a regular 6.7-inch smartphone, an 8-inch foldable or a 10-inch tablet. For comparison, the photos from the previous leak, in which the smartphone is used in a case, are embedded below.
Rumors about this tri-fold smartphone have been circulating for over three years. So far, hardly any concrete details about the flagship foldable are known apart from the screen diagonal of around 10 inches. The device is said to be equipped with a new flagship processor from the Kirin 9 series and will be launched onto the market in the coming months.
