According to news from this website on August 15, the flagship processors R9 9950X and R9 9900X processors in the AMD Ryzen 9000 series are officially launched tonight, providing top-notch performance.
To help users tap into higher performance gains, MSI announced the launch of several new features for Ryzen 9000 series processors (included in the AGESA 1.2.0.1a update), such as PBO Enhanced Mode, Set Hotspot, and Efficiency Mode.
MSI said that PBO enhanced mode further optimizes the processor based on AMD’s original Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), thereby achieving better performance , the Ryzen 9000 processor can achieve a performance improvement of 3~15%.
For example, it can enhance the Cinebench R23 performance of R9 9950X from 5% (PBO default configuration) to 10% (PBO enhanced mode); for R7 9700X, after turning on PBO enhanced mode, a 15% performance gain will be obtained .
Like the R9 7950X, the new R9 9950X can reach temperatures up to 95°C under full load. MSI says that after turning on this feature, users can set it within three hotspot ranges of 85°C, 75°C and 65°C, effectively reducing CPU temperature with a slight impact on performance.
For example, the R9 9950X can limit the temperature to 85°C after activating "Set 85°C Hotspot" with no loss in performance and maybe even a slight increase. MSI highlights that this feature can also reduce the temperature of other Ryzen 9000 processors by 3-4°C without sacrificing performance.
As the name suggests, Efficiency Mode mainly fine-tunes memory settings to reduce latency and improve game performance. This website noticed that the high-efficiency mode supports four preset schemes: Tightest, Tighter, Balance and Relax. Users can choose according to their own memory overclocking capabilities.
It’s worth mentioning that MSI Efficiency Mode can also be used with AMD Optimized Performance Profile (OPP) and MSI memory to further enhance overall platform performance and gaming performance.
