Pi Network Reaches 13 Million Users Who Have Passed KYC Procedures and 6 Million Users Who Have Migrated to the Mainnet

Pi Network, a highly controversial project within the cryptocurrency space, began its journey over six years ago. However, to this day, there is still no clear indication regarding when users of the network can expect some sort of straightforward token launch.

Having said that, recently, the core team behind the project unveiled a statement, updating followers on the network’s progress. According to the announcement, the network has managed to onboard over 13 million users who have already passed Know-Your-Customer (KYC) procedures, and around six million users have migrated to the mainnet.

It is important to note, though, that despite how this announcement is worded, the mainnet in question is not yet launched. Instead, “migrated to mainnet” actually means that these users have completed a “mainnet checklist,” which includes tasks such as setting up a Pi wallet, completing the KYC process, and joining the Pi mobile application beta testing program.

Upon completing these tasks, users will be able to claim their Pi balance on the mainnet once it launches, and they will also gain access to the Pi mobile application on the mainnet. Notably, this announcement also serves as a reminder that the network’s mainnet launch is still pending.

As previously reported by Finbold, the Pi Network team announced the commencement of the mainnet migration process in March 2023, aiming to onboard the network’s community of over 35 million members. At the time, the team stated that the migration would take place in phases.

Moreover, the network’s native token, Pi, has also been the subject of attention. In April 2024, the cryptocurrency was listed on the cryptocurrency exchange, XT.com, despite the fact that the mainnet had yet to be launched and the token was yet to be officially released. Following the listing, Pi’s price surged by over 400%.
