The Trump Organization is reportedly close to announcing a new crypto project, with president Eric Trump expressing enthusiasm for the potential of crypto and decentralized finance in an interview with the New York Post.

While anticipation had grown following a cryptic post by Trump Jr. on X earlier in August, hinting at his involvement in the crypto space, the details of the Trump Organization's announcement are still being kept under wraps.

“At some point, I think we all want some form of financial independence and a world where we don’t have to play by the big bank’s playbook,” Trump said in the Post interview.

The younger Trump, who is also an executive vice president at the Trump Organization, discussed the potential of crypto and DeFi in an interview with the New York Post.

According to the Post, Eric Trump views crypto and decentralized finance (DeFi) as potentially powerful accelerators for the US economy, highlighting the fact that over half the country is currently unbanked.

“Meaning they will be rejected for most loans from most institutions. But with this technology, they could have the ability to almost instantaneously be approved or denied from a lender based on math, not policy,” Trump said.

“Money could be in their account in minutes, not months. The system as it stands now can be manipulated. And it is. All the time.”

Trump also mentioned his family's experience with financial discrimination, which he said gave him a unique perspective on how people can be easily kept out of certain markets.

“My family has certainly had our fair share of financial discrimination. I’ve had a unique perspective on how easily people can be kept out of certain markets. It slows everything down. It’s not right,” he added.

The Trump Organization president's comments come after former President Donald Trump participated in an X Spaces event on Thursday, where he was expected to discuss a wide range of topics with X CEO Elon Musk.

Despite high expectations and significant betting interest on Polymarket, Trump did not mention cryptocurrencies during the two-hour conversation.

Listeners had bet over $600,000 on the mention of "crypto," reflecting a 65% probability, andもあった high for mentions of "Bitcoin," with bets reaching a 69% chance. However, none of these anticipated mentions materialized during the interview.

Trump did touch on other hot-button topics that bettors had their eyes on, such as "MAGA," "illegal immigrant," and "tampon," which were present in the dialogue.

One particularly successful bettor, known online as ‘bama1234,’ managed to net over $1 million by accurately predicting the presence or absence of these keywords during the broadcast.

His most lucrative bet was on Trump not mentioning "crypto," which alone added $336,918 to his winnings.
