XGIMI unveils new Z7X High Brightness Edition projector

The XGIMI Z7X High Brightness Edition projector has been launched in China. As its name suggests, the new version’s LED light source has a higher peak brightness level of 880 CVIA lumens compared to the 800 CVIA lumens of the original model, a 10% increase.

Otherwise, the two versions of the Z7X are similar. With a native 1080p resolution, the DLP projector supports 2K and 4K content, HDR10, and HLG. The product listing does not indicate the maximum recommended image size, which was 100 inches (~254 cm) for the older model; the throw ratio is said to be 1.2:1. You can perfect the image with automatic keystone correction, focus, and screen alignment and obstacle avoidance tools. Adaptive wall color means you do not need a projector screen, and the stand allows the device to be rotated up to 145°.

The projector uses a 0.33-inch DMD chip and the GMUI 6.0 operating system. Other features include voice commands, MEMC motion smoothing and low latency gaming, with ports including HDMI 2.0 (ARC), USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack. Plus, the compact model has an average thickness of 5.2 cm (~2.0 inches) and built-in Harman Kardon speakers compatible with Dolby Audio and DTS HD. You can now pre-order the XGIMI Z7X High Brightness Edition projector in China for 2,999 yuan (~$419). It remains to be seen whether the company intends to bring the product to other markets like the US, where it already sells models like the MoGo 2 Pro 1080P Portable Projector.
