Leaked HMD Hyper specs hint at it being cheaper than the HMD Skyline

Following the launch of the HMD Skyline (available on Amazon for $499.99), HMD is planning to unveil more products, and according to a leak, one of them is a new Android smartphone called the HMD Hyper. The leak reveals the key specifications of the upcoming device, and from the info provided, it should cost less than the Skyline.

According to the X account, @smashx_60, the HMD Hyper will have a full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There's no mention of the screen size but a leaked image shows that the display is flat and has a centered-punch hole for the front-facing camera. The source says the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will also have a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Like the HMD Skyline, the Hyper is shown to have three rear cameras. The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with OIS while the other two rear cameras are a 13MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. It will also have a 50MP front-facing camera. The Hyper will be able to record in 4K at 30fps and in Full HD at 60fps.In addition, the Hyper will pack a 4,700mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

Based on the leaked render, the HMD Hyper will have a design similar to that of the HMD Skyline, albeit with a bright yellow finish reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia 920.

There's no info on when it will launch and how much it would cost, but seeing as it has a less-powerful chipset and a lower refresh rate than the HMD Skyline, it should sell for less.
