Every Samsung Galaxy Ring feature works on non-Galaxy Android phones

Months after the first teaser, Samsung made the Galaxy Ring available to purchase last month. Given that the company didn't say much about compatibility with Android phones from other brands, people thought that the smart ring would only deliver the full experience when used with Galaxy smartphones.

But it turns out that all the features of the Samsung Galaxy Ring work when the smart ring is paired with a non-Galaxy Android phone. That includes the Galaxy AI-powered health tips and Energy Score, which were previously thought to be exclusive to Samsung smartphones.

Android Police tested the wearable with the Motorola Razr Plus, and reportedly, the Energy Score and AI-powered health tips weren't available on the first day. The first appeared after the first day, while the health tips started working after a couple of days.

GSMArena reports that the Galaxy Ring worked as it should on the Honor Magic 6 Pro, including the two mentioned features that were thought to be Galaxy phone exclusives. So, if you were interested in the smart ring but didn't purchase it because of having an Android phone from another brand, you can get it without any worries.

In case you're hearing about the smart ring for the first time, it is more of an additional accessory than a full-fledged smartwatch replacement. It can track activities, blood oxygenlevels, sleep quality, and skin temperature. Available in nine sizes, the Galaxy Ring (available on Amazon) sports a titanium exterior and has an IP68 ring. You can learn more about the wearable from the video attached below.
