Lenovo squashes Legion Go Lite leak - handheld maker blames FAQ mistake for premature hype

Fans of the Lenovo Legion Go recently got a dose of excitement when it looked like specs of the much-leaked Lenovo Legion Go Lite leaked on Lenovo's FAQ page. To recap, the FAQ page seemed to imply that the Legion Go Lite would have a 7-inch display, and that both Windows gaming handhelds would have dual fans and HDMI ports. This led gamers to assume that not only would Lenovo soon be releasing the smaller Legion Go Lite, but that it would also be refreshing the 8.8-inch Legion Go (curr. $599.99 from Lenovo US) with an updated port selection. In a recent statement to Forbes, however, Lenovo blamed the rumours and hype surrounding the Legion Go Lite and Legion Go refresh on simple mistakes in the copy. The company even went so far as to thank the community for pointing out its mistakes.

The FAQ section in question contained incorrect information pertaining to the 1st generation Lenovo Legion Go, and thanks to our eagle-eyed Legion fans it was brought to our attention and subsequently removed. We are very happy to see the Legion fanbase paying rapt attention to Lenovo Legion updates and while we cannot comment on the possibility of future announcements, we can promise that we are working on bringing the coolest new gaming innovations to our fans around the world. — Lenovo via Forbes

Regardless of Lenovo's statement, which slyly avoids actually addressing the rumours, the FAQ page leak isn't the first time we've seen mention of the Legion Go Lite, and Lenovo has already all but confirmed that it is working on a refresh for the Legion Go. The Legion Go is already one of the most versatile gaming handhelds on the market, so it would make sense for Lenovo to introduce a Lite version with a cut-back AMD Ryzen Z1, as opposed to the Z1 Extreme.

With Asus recently refreshing the ROG Ally X (curr. $799.99 at Best Buy), it wouldn't be surprising to see Lenovo introduce a mid-cycle refresh of the original Legion Go with more ports to maintain its versatility advantage. Regardless, all indications suggest that fans of the Legion Go may have to wait until 2025 for any concrete news on the Legion Go.

Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
