New Motorola mid-range smartphone leaks online with 5G chipset and 3x telephoto camera

Less than two months have passed since Motorola released the Moto S50 Neo in China, which debuted alongside the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra (curr. $999.99 on Amazon) at the end of June. Now, it seems that the company is preparing another Moto S50 series handset simply called the Moto S50.

Currently, Motorola has not officially mentioned the Moto S50 on any social media channels, as far as we are aware. Instead, the TENAA has shared various specifications and device photos, which we have embedded below. For context, while an appearance on the regulatory body is a sign of a device's impending Chinese release, it is no guarantee that it will be available elsewhere anytime soon.

At any rate, the TENAA describes the Moto S50 as combining a 6.36-inch OLED display with a chipset that has a 2.5 GHz base CPU clock. Presumed to be the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, the chipset is also said to be joined by a 4,310 mAh battery that supports 68 W wired charging and sits within a 154.1 x 71.2 x 8.1 mm housing that weighs 172 g.

Moreover, the TENAA listing mentions that Motorola has equipped the Moto S50 with four cameras, three of which sit within a housing that resembles that of the Edge 50 Pro's. For reference, these cameras are said to be 50 MP primary, 32 MP front-facing, 13 MP ultra-wide-angle and 10 MP telephoto cameras, the latter of which provides 3x optical zoom. Although the Moto S50's release date remains unknown for now, it is expected to be released globally as the Edge 50 Neo.
