Tuxedo starts pre-selling InfinityFlex 14 Linux-based 3-in-1 convertible with Intel Raptor Lake-U CPU

Schenker / XMG subsidiary Tuxedo specializing in Linux-based systems will soon launch its very first convertible laptop named InfinityFlex 14. It can transform into a Linux tablet, but it can also act as a stand-alone touch display.

Since this is a 14-inch model with a partial aluminum chassis, it is relatively slim for a convertible at 19 mm thickness and 1.5 kg weight, which includes the 55 Wh battery. The touchscreen seems a bit dated, but offers decent quality with a 1920 x 1200 panel capable of 400 nit brightness, 60 Hz refresh and 100% sRGB.

There are no other processor options except the Intel i5-1335U with 15 W TDP that sports 10 cores and 12 threads (2 P + 8 E) plus an Iris Xe iGPU. This model does not feature a dGPU. Users can configure it with up to 64 GB DDR4-3200 and up to 8 TB of storage (1x PCIe 4.0 + 1x PCIe 3.0 or SATA3 slots).

Port selection is solid with 1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x full option USB-C 3. Gen 2, 1x USB-A 3.2 gen 2, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.0 video out, microSD card reader or SIM card (up to LTE+ support) and combo audio jack.

Other noteworthy features include an FHD webcam with physical privacy shutter switch, white backlit keyboard configurable with 28 layouts and a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 module for internet access. By default, the system comes pre-installed with the Tuxedo OS, but users may choose other distros for free or even opt for paid or unpaid virtualized Windows.

The basic configuration with 16 Gb RAM and a Samsung 980 500 GB SSD is priced at 999.16 EUR excluding shipping. European buyers will also need to add 19% VAT tax. The InfinityFlex 14 is now available for pre-orders, but it will only start shipping on September 16.
