ASUS' TUF Gaming AS2000 PLUS is a new portable solid-state drive (SSD) that utilizes M.2 NVMe PCIe technology and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface. The drive claims to achieve transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbps. With up to 2 TB of storage capacity, the TUF Gaming AS2000 PLUS could be well-suited for gaming, large file backups, and 4K content storage, among other utilities. Alongside its appearance on Chinese e-commerce website JD.com, the SSD showed up on the ASUS official website as well.
The drive's design is a clear reflection of the 'durability' aspect of it. It sports a very similar design to the slower AS2000 SSD, albeit with a whole different outer material. The TUF Gaming AS2000 PLUS meets U.S. military-grade MIL-STD-810H standards for drop resistance and achieves IP68 certification for water and dust resistance - which means user data should be safe from accidental drops, spills, and harsh environments.The PLUS variant, unlike the AS2000, has a high-grade silicone rubber exterior, making it even more resistant to shocks.
