New HMD Global flip phone revealed without Nokia branding and two displays ahead of global release

HMD Global has released plenty of feature phones and smartphones of late, many of which it sells under its name rather than Nokia's, like the HMD Vibe (curr. $149.99 on Amazon). Additionally, it recently shared details release details about a new flip phone, which has now been pictured by the TENAA in China.

As expected, the HMD Barbie Flip Phone will be resplendent thanks to its bright pink outer finish. However, this finish does not extend across the entire device. Instead, the Mattel collaboration has a paler pink mid-shell, along with what seems to be a metallic top layer that HMD has adorned with Barbie branding too.

Based on the images above, this top layer is not only intersected by a 0.3 MP single camera and an LED flash, but it also contains a small display display that appears to almost blend in when it is switched off. Moreover, the Barbie Flip Phone has a removable back panel as well, within which sits a 1,450 mAh battery, two SIM card slots and a MicroSD card reader.

Seemingly, the device will only offer up to 4G/LTE connectivity though, as well as modest amounts of RAM and storage. On top of that, HMD is expected to equip its latest flip phone with 1.77-inch outer and 2.8-inch QVGA inner displays. Currently, the Barbie movie tie-in isanticipated to launchon August 28 for €108 (~$118) in the Eurozone but INR 4,999 (~$59.55) in India.
