First and foremost, Google is said to be finally increasing the frame rate of the OLED display from 30 Hz to 60 Hz, which will bring Google up to par with competitors such as the Apple Watch Series 9. If the always-on display is used, the frame rate is reduced to 1 Hz in order to conserve battery life. Google will reportedly continue to claim a battery life of 24 hours, with 36 hours possible in power-saving mode. At up to 2,000 nits, the new OLED panel is also twice as bright as the previous model, which should improve readability in the sun, while the brightness can be reduced to 1 nit at night.

Android Headlines also confirms earlier rumors that Google is installing the same processor as in the Pixel Watch 2, i.e., theQualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1.The 4 nm ARM chip from last year has four ARM Cortex-A53 efficiency cores with clock frequencies of up to 1.7 GHz, which means the chip is likely to be slower than the Samsung Exynos W1000 in the Samsung Galaxy Watch7, since Samsung's 3 nm smartwatch chip has a Cortex-A78 performance core in addition to four more modern Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The memory configuration of the Pixel Watch 3 is also expected to remain unchanged, remaining at 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash storage.
