Police are appealing for information after a coin collection and jewellery were stolen during a burglary in Bishop's Cleeve last month.

A number of items were taken during the incident, which is believed to have happened sometime between 10pm on Tuesday, July 9, and 9am on Wednesday, July 10, at an address on Bishop's Drive.

A neighbour discovered thieves had broken into the downstairs window and ransacked the property while the owner was on holiday.

Among the items stolen was a coin collection issued by The Royal Mint to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. The collection, which is valued at £1,800, included one silver coin, one 8 carat gold coin and two 18 carat gold coins.

A safe was also taken containing important documents and £420 in cash, as well as two pairs of gold stud earrings, one pair of diamond stud earrings, a gold chain and two wedding rings.

Officers are now asking anyone who is offered the items for sale to get in touch.

They would also like anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that week or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe is relevant to come forward.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 104 of July 10.
