If you own an Xbox, then there is no shortage of Xbox Wireless Controllers to choose from as Microsoft is always churning out new colors including special editions you can buy and limited editionsthat you can only win. Its latest is the Xbox Wireless Controller - Sky Cipher Special Edition, and thankfully, this will be available to buy.
The new Xbox Wireless Controller has a translucent case that allows owners to see the silver interior. The entire top case and side caps are see-through while the rest of the body isn't. The Xbox Wireless Controller - Sky Cipher Edition also has rubberized grips in a sky blue hue, metallic blue triggers and D-Pad,and dark blue bumpers and underside.
The new controller is also the first to ship in a new packaging for Xbox controllers. According to the press release, the packaging doesn't contain single-use plastics while the paper manual has been replaced with a QR code that opens a digital quick start guide. The packaging is also said to be 22% smaller and 21% lighter. All of these changes have been made to reduce the product's carbon footprint.
The Xbox Wireless Controller - Sky Cipher Special Edition will cost $69.99/£64.99/€ 69.99 and is already available for pre-order in select markets. It will be released on August 13, 2024.
