Canalys: Global smartphone market grew by 12% in Q2
Canalys, a third-party technology market analysis agency, recently released a report stating that in the second quarter of 2024, the global smartphone market once again achieved double-digit growth, with shipments reaching 288.9 million units.
Driven by product innovation and improving business conditions, the global smartphone market has experienced positive growth for three consecutive quarters.
Despite only a 1% growth, Samsung continued to consolidate its first position, shipping 53.5 million units. Its high-end product line continues to drive shipment value growth, while its A-series products ensure overall shipment scale through 5G differentiation.
Apple maintained its second position with strong momentum in North America and Asia-Pacific, with shipments reaching 45.6 million units. Xiaomi is approaching Apple with its competitive product portfolio, shipping 42.3 million units and having a market share of 15%.
vivo returned to the fourth position again, with shipments of 25.9 million units and a market share of 9%. Transsion ranked fifth with 25.5 million units shipped and 9% market share.
