Retroid has had a relatively quiet year so far following the launches of the Pocket 4 and Pocket 4 Pro (curr. $249.99 on Amazon) in late December 2023. However, it has showcased a new device, albeit not a new gaming handheld. In fact, it has decided to announce an official accessory for many of its recent gaming handhelds.
Specifically, it soon intends to release the Retroid Official Dock, which will only come in a black finish at launch. Please note that while Retroid's website states that the dock is already sold out, this is a red herring. Instead, Retroid estimates that it will start selling and shipping the $29.90 accessory sometime this week. Unfortunately, it is unclear when that will be the case for now.
Nonetheless, Retroid has at least confirmed many key details, such as the inclusion of USB Power Delivery (PD) support, as well as the presence of four USB Type-A ports split evenly between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds. Moreover, the Retroid Official Dock will support Ethernet and HDMI. With that being said, the latter will only be available for thePocket 4 Pro, which is capable of outputting at up to 4K and 60 Hz. Please see Retroid's product listing for further details.
