During an extensive interview on Tuesday, Trump shared his NFT endeavors and his perspective on the U.S. role in the bitcoin market.

In an interview with Bloomberg on July 16, Trump stated, “I’m going to do another one because the people want me to do another one.”

“We had one year to sell it out and it sold out in one day,” he added. His latest NFT collection, titled "MugShot," centered around his ongoing criminal indictments.

According to Trump, almost all of it was paid for with this new currency. The experience “opened my eyes,” Trump continued, expressing his intention to establish America as the world leader in the bitcoin market, as reported by Cointelegraph.

Trump's Crypto Ambitions: Preventing China's Dominance

“It’s a baby. It’s an infant right now. But I don’t want to be responsible for allowing another country to take over this space,” Trump added, asserting that if he fails to address the issue, China will become the industry leader, stating that the country is “quite advanced in that space.”

He noted the evolving attitudes toward bitcoin among traditional banking CEOs, such as JP Morgan, over the years.

Shifting Perspectives on Bitcoin Among Financial Leaders

“Jamie Dimon was, you know, very negative and now all of a sudden he’s changed his tune a little bit,” Trump added, referring to the months following Dimon's public attack on cryptocurrencies during a December 2023 hearing before the Senate Banking Committee.

At the time, Dimon joked that if he were the government, he would shut it down immediately.

Trump's comments come days after an assassination attempt was made on him while he was hosting a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was speaking on stage.
