iOS 18 and tvOS 18 betas add InSight feature for more immersive viewing

With the release of the third beta of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and tvOS 18, Apple is adding InSight functionality to the Apple TV app. This innovative feature was previously only teased at WWDC as part of the latest software update, but now it's officially here, bridging the gap in early betas.

InSight Features

1. Content Availability:

   • Provides actor information and details of the music being played for each scene.
   • Located at the bottom of the Apple TV application interface, dynamically updated.

3. Actor information:

   • Actor names are displayed in list form.
   • Click on an actor to switch to picture-in-picture mode and display other works in which he or she has appeared.

   • Click a song title to add it to the Saved Songs section of Apple Music.

5. Platform Compatibility:

   • For Apple TV running tvOS 18.
   • InSight information can also be viewed on iPhones running iOS 18 through the Remote app.

   • Similar to Amazon Prime Video’s X-Ray feature, but doesn’t provide fun facts or full cast information.

7. Applicable content:

   • Currently limited to the newer Apple TV+ series.
