Music Sensation Doja Cat Turns into Newest Sufferer of Superstar Hacks as Her X (Previously Twitter) Account Acquired Compromised to Endorse a Faux Solana-Primarily based Meme Coin

Solana blockchain continues to be the preferred selection for high-profile celebrity hacks. In the latest incident, music star Doja Cat fell victim to a hack that saw her X (formerly Twitter) account being compromised to promote a fake Solana-based meme coin called “DOJA.”

The incident highlights the growing trend of scammers using high-profile social media accounts to promote crypto scams. It also underscores the importance of users exercising caution when interacting with digital assets and verifying the authenticity of investment opportunities, especially those promoted on celebrity accounts.

Fake Solana-Based Meme Coin “DOJA” Sparks Frenzy

On Monday, Doja Cat's X account, which has over 5.6 million followers, was hacked by cybercriminals to shill her namesake Solana scam meme coin. Doja's fans became aware of the hack after several unauthorized posts about the new meme coin were made from her account.

Leveraging Doja's high profile and massive social media following, the hackers used her fanship to post false information and links, urging them to invest in the fraudulent cryptocurrency DOJA after the breach.

The first post featured an image of DOJA holding a knife with the words, “Buy DOJA or else,” and a link that purported to be selling the Solana scam coin. Later, the hacker deleted Doja Cat's profile picture and description from her multi-million follower account and posted over two dozen more posts engaging her fans.

However, unlike the previous incidents involving 50 Cent and Hulk Hogan, the fans did not engage with the hacker's scam attempt, and the exploit fell short of the criminal's expectations. This could also be attributed to Doja's quick response in informing her fans about her account being compromised by hackers.

Hours after the incident, the music star took to her Instagram account to alert her fans about the development after being called out by several of her fans. “It isn’t me, it’s really an imposter. You guys don’t believe whoever that was, okay? It was someone else,” she said.

Hackers Continuing To Target High Profile Celeb Profiles

Doja Cat's X account hack is part of a broader trend that has seen cybercriminals leverage the social media profiles of celebrities to shill scam coins as the cryptocurrency landscape unfolds. This hack comes a week after Hollywood actress and star Sydney Sweeney fell victim to a similar attack.

Those hackers also took over Sweeney's X account to promote her namesake Solana meme coin “SWEENEY.” However, her team quickly intervened, regaining control of her account to minimize any potential losses.
