This site (120btC.coM): Earlier yesterday (4), Ethereum core developers held the 191st All Core Developers Execution (ACDE) conference call. Community user abcoathup posted on the Ethereum forum Share a summary of this call.
Pectra upgrade update
This meeting started with the Pectra update, the next major upgrade of Ethereum. It was mentioned in the meeting:
Before launching the Devnet-1 test network, we are waiting for more clients to be ready, it is expected that The latest progress of EIP-7702, which will be completed in the next 1~2 weeks, will be incorporated into the devnet-2 test network, and the merger is expected to be completed within the next week. It should be noted that the devnet-1 testnet will reflect the current specifications of EIP-7702.
Whether EIP-7212 is included in the Pectra upgrade
EIP-7212 provides many optimization features regarding key/wallet management , has been widely supported by developers.
We discussed officially incorporating it into Pectra, but decided to make a decision at the next ACDE (Core Developers Meeting). While this EIP brings a nice set of features, it needs to be weighed against the wide range of capabilities that Pectra already has.
Additionally, there are some minor issues that need to be resolved with EIP-7212, including mirroring precompiled addresses in L2 and L1 deployments, which will be resolved over the next two weeks so that inclusion can be discussed at the next meeting.
EIP-7212 is designed to enable safe, cost-effective verification of secp256r1 (P256) curves. The reason for this proposal for Rollups is its significant impact on account abstraction in L2, and the large number of pass-through key and SE-based AA wallets that already exist on L2.
In addition, a number of proposals were discussed at the meeting, including: adding events to the pre-deployment system contract to facilitate cross-layer communication with EIP-7002 and EIP-7251. Developers agree that this change is reasonable and the relevant contracts will be updated.
In order to simplify the deployment effect of EIP-7702 and Verkle migration, the developers decided that EIP-158 is no longer needed and ignored the proposal.
Additionally, developers discuss progress on other protocol improvements such as history expiration and changes to Blobmempool to optimize blob usage for users such as Rollups. There have also been calls for regular updates on the progress of EIP-4444, and for rollups and clients to handle the process from blob generation to on-chain inclusion more intelligently.
