There’s an adorable town that’s coined quite the name for itself! Campbellford, Ontario can be found about two hours by car from Toronto

Campbellford, Ontario is about a two-hour drive from Toronto and is known as Canada's "official toonie town."

The Royal Canadian Mint gave Campbellford the title of “The Home of the Two Dollar Coin” in 1997, and now the town is home to a 27-foot toonie.

According to Visit Trent Hills, “Located along the Trent River in Old Mill Park, the Giant $2 Coin was built in 2001.”

The coin features an image of a polar bear on an ice floe and was designed by Brent Townsend, a wildlife and landscape artist.

This little slice of local history still stands today and is a must-visit when going to Campbellford.

But get this — that's not the only toonie statue in this town.

Believe it or not, there's a second monument that was built in 1996 by the Town of Campbellford.

The other statue is only a few feet away, standing at 20 feet high (6.1 metres) and made with over 700 white and yellow lights.
