Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme has rejoined Trabzonspor on a free transfer after leaving the Turkish club two years ago, according to Soccernet.ng.

The left winger, who played for Trabzonspor from 2018 to 2022, left to join Al-Fayha during the 2022 summer transfer window after his contract expired.

Nwakaeme's signing on a free transfer from Saudi Arabia has been reported by Turkish media, although Trabzonspor has yet to officially announce it.

Another Nigerian who has impressed for the Super Lig side is Paul Onuachu, who is reportedly set to extend his stay at the club after his season-long loan from Southampton expired.

Nwakaeme revealed that he has spoken to Onuachu, who has told him of his plans to spend more time in Trabzon, having enjoyed his first season with the Black Sea Storm.

“I also talked to Onuachu; he expressed that he wanted to return. He told me that he was very happy and had a good time here, but I have no information about the current transfer situation,” he said.
