Multiple retailers and industry insiders have zeroed in on a mid-July release date for AMD's Strix Point laptops. Golden Pig Package Upgrade, a renowned Weibo leaker, says it has now been pushed back by two weeks. Therefore, we won't get to see Strix Point-powerd laptops in action until July 28.
While the reason for Strix Point's delay is unknown, AMD can afford to do it because Lunar Lake isn't scheduled to hit shelves until later this year, or CES 2025, if an earlier leak is accurate. So far, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365 have showcased stellar performance by trading blows with desktop-grade parts and entry-level dGPUs.
Furthermore, AMD appears to be going all-in on Strix Point and probably wants to get things perfect for its launch. With the Snapdragon X Elite not living up to its hype, Strix Point will be the best laptop silicon on the market for a while. That said, Lunar Lake doesn't seem to be too far behind at a much lower wattage.
