Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha received a gift of mango, hilsa fish, and sweets from Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday as a token of goodwill, officials said.

The gifts were received by representatives of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission (AHC) in Agartala at the Agartala-Akhaura Integrated Check Post (ICP), which is adjacent to the Agartala city.

The gifts will be given to the Tripura chief minister upon his return to Agartala, a Bangladesh AHC official said. He is now in Delhi.

The gifts include 50 kg of succulent hilsa fish, 50 kg of rasgulla (sweets), and 400 kg of the incredibly delectable Hariavanga (Haribhanga), the most well-known mango of Bangladesh’s Dinajpur and Rangpur regions.

Through the Agartala-Akhaura ICP, the chief minister of Tripura delivered the prime minister of Bangladesh 500 kg of pineapples as a “gift” on June 23.

According to Assistant Director Dipak Baidya of the Tripura Horticulture Department, the chief minister of Tripura sent the prime minister of Bangladesh pineapples, known as the queen variety, as a show of goodwill.
