Ultimate 2C: 8BitDo presents new Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless controller with hall effect joysticks for just .99

8BitDo has presented another new controller, a few months after revealing a Commodore 64 refresh of its Retro Mechanical Keyboard (curr. $109.99 on Amazon). This time, the company has focused on expanding its more affordable options through the launch of the Ultimate 2C, which retails for a mere $29.99 in the US. For reference, 8BitDo has designed the Ultimate 2C as a PC version of its existing Ultimate C.

As such, the Ultimate 2C supports 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth connectivity, the latter of which also makes the controller compatible with other systems like Android. Additionally, 8BitDo states that Ultimate 2C can be used in wired mode, but only on Windows. Similarly, the company claims that the Ultimate 2C is only compatible with Android 9.0 and Windows 10 or newer; it remains to be seen whether this is actually true, though.

Regardless, 8BitDo adds that the controller's built-in 480 mAh battery provides up to 25-hour runtimes in 2.4 GHz mode but 32 hours if Bluetooth is used instead. Moreover, not only does the Ultimate 2C feature an Xbox control layout, but it also has L4 and R4 bumpers, plus hall effect joysticks and triggers to eliminate joystick or trigger drift. On top of that, the Ultimate 2C offers rumble and turbo functionality, as well as support for custom button mapping. Currently, 8BitDo offers the Ultimate 2C in four colour options and hopes to begin shipping pre-orders on July 15; please see the company's product listing for further details.

mPDF

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
