Stablecoin issuer Tether is partnering with Taipei University to enhance blockchain and digital asset education in Taiwan. The collaboration will see the integration of blockchain courses into the university's curriculum.

According to an announcement on Monday, the partnership will also see the establishment of a blockchain and digital asset research centre at Taipei University. The initiative aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving digital finance landscape.

The collaboration will see the development of a comprehensive curriculum covering blockchain fundamentals and digital assets. The announcement noted that specialised courses will be offered on digital asset management, trading, and regulatory frameworks.

Taipei University will integrate the new blockchain and digital asset courses into its College of Management. Students will gain an overall understanding of cryptocurrencies and digital assets like Bitcoin (BTC) and stablecoins. The program will also prepare students to identify scams and understand potential risks.

“We are excited to partner with prestigious universities like NTUT (Taipei Tech) and Tamkang University to enhance blockchain and digital asset education in Taiwan,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether. “By focusing on comprehensive knowledge, we aim to work hand-in-hand with these universities to empower the next generation of blockchain professionals in the region.”

The announcement added that guest lectures and workshops will be conducted by industry experts from Tether and other blockchain and digital asset companies. These sessions will provide students with the latest industry trends and developments.

“This collaboration will help students understand cryptocurrencies and digital assets better. It will also contribute to the digital asset adoption in Taiwan,” Ardoino added.

The collaboration between Tether and Taipei University is part of a broader effort to enhance blockchain and digital asset education in the region. The stablecoin issuer has previously partnered with other universities in Taiwan, including National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) and Tamkang University, to launch blockchain and digital asset programs.
