Coinbase, Binance and other leading cryptocurrency exchanges around the world immediately launched support for trading in the brand new altcoin from the “omnichain” project.
Major cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide, including Coinbase, Binance, OKX, Bybit, Crypto.com, and Bitfinex, have quickly announced support for trading the new altcoin launched by the “omnichain” project.
Layer Zero describes itself as a protocol that brings interoperability to Omnichain, a project that aims to seamlessly transfer data across blockchains and enable “messaging that resists censorship and unauthorized development through smart contracts.”
On Thursday, the project launched a new native token called “ZRO,” for which Binance has added support and an initial token listing, and Coinbase has designated the token as an experimental currency that may experience high volatility.
Coinbase users will be able to view and trade ZRO, an ERC-20 token, in the ‘advanced trade’ section of the platform. Coinbase also notes that the token’s price can fluctuate drastically, and users should exercise caution when trading the asset.
The exchange has also announced a new mechanism for ZRO called “Proof of Donation,” which will see a donation of about $18.5 million to the Protocol Guild, a crowdfunding platform for Ethereum (ETH) development.
