Martin Shkreli Says Barron Trump Created the DJT Token With His Father\'s Approval
Martin Shkreli, aka “Pharma Bro,” has said that with the approval of Donald Trump, his 18-year-old son, Barron Trump, has launched the DJT token and he has the private key to its smart contract address.
Martin Shkreli, also known as "Pharma Bro," has claimed that Donald Trump's 18-year-old son, Barron Trump, launched the DJT token with his approval, and that he has the private key to its smart contract address.
In an X post, Shkreli, who served over six years in prison for securities fraud, wrote, "I showed someone how to make a contract, and they pushed the button, not me. Keys are with Trump, not me."
Shkreli, who served over six years in prison for securities fraud, claims that Barron approached him in April for help in creating the Solana-based token, DJT. According to Birdseye data, the token has now reached a market value of $146 million.
Shkreli says his only involvement was advising Barron Trump, who he calls a friend, during an X Spaces session hosted by Mario Nawfal.
According to Shkreli, about ten people were involved in launching the DJT token. He also mentioned that Barron had been talking to Kraken about listing the token, but Kraken did not respond to a request for comment.
In a conversation with Mario, Shkreli said that Barron told him that Donald Trump knew about and approved of the DJT token. They communicated extensively, with Barron sharing his father's involvement through messages and calls, according to Shkreli.
Shkreli says he has screenshots from Barron's Instagram account to prove it. He noted that Donald could easily deny involvement if the project had problems, but Barron kept telling him that his father supported and liked the idea.
A teenager with less than 500 X followers who was reportedly involved with Shkreli was introduced as the "Mongolian Prince" in an attempt by Shkreli to support his claims.
In a seven-hour X Spaces talk, Mongolian Prince also confirmed that Barron created the DJT token and has the private keys. He also said that Barron deployed the contract. "Barron wanted to do something special, something significant, and we all wanted to help him with that," he added.
Mongolian Prince also claimed that Barron showed Donald Trump his Solana-based Phantom wallet before the token launched, and Trump laughed in response.
Later in the X Spaces session, Kim Dotcom, an X speaker, asked Martin if he had sold any of the DJT tokens since purchasing them. Shkreli declined to give a direct answer, saying, "I'm not going to answer that. I bought such a small amount of tokens that it's immaterial."
