Nintendo presented plenty of games yesterday during its most recent Nintendo Direct event, an overview of which we have provided separately. Additionally, the company also announced a new version of the Switch Lite (curr. $194.93 on Amazon), possibly the last refresh of its kind before the arrival of the long-awaited Switch 2. Specifically, Nintendo plans to release a Switch Lite Hyrule Edition to commemorate The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
For reference, the Switch Lite Hyrule Edition is not the first Zelda-themed console officially released by Nintendo. Instead, the company offered a special edition version of the Wii U to coincide with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. With that being said, Nintendo has taken the Switch Lite Hyrule Edition in a different direction from its Wii U predecessor.
As the photos below show, Nintendo has given the Switch Lite a full gold finish for its Hyrule Edition refresh, as well as a Hylian Crest across its back panel. Moreover, Nintendo will bundle a 12-month Switch Online membership with all Switch Lite Hyrule Edition. Although the company has not confirmed launch pricing yet, you can already register your interest on a dedicated microsite ahead of the console's September 26 release.
