Screen supply chain consulting company DSCC released a report on June 17, stating that global OLED tablet panel shipments in the first quarter of 2024 were 1.72 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 131%, reaching a record high.
OLED tablet share is expected to continue to expand in 2028 and beyond as the price gap with LCD narrows. As more brands launch more OLED tablets, OLED tablet unit share is expected to reach 16% and revenue share to reach 55% by 2028.
Q1 Report
In the procurement of OLED flat panels in the first quarter of 2024, Apple accounted for 47% and Huawei accounted for 47% of the OLED flat panel purchases in the first quarter of 2024. and Samsung followed closely, accounting for 25% and 17% respectively.
There were 15 OLED tablet models in Q1 2024, up from 13 in Q4 2023. The 13-inch M4 iPad Pro had the highest purchase share at 35%, followed by the 11.1-inch M4 iPad Pro at 12.5% and the Mate Pad Pro 11 at 11%.

DSCC estimates that the second quarter of 2024 will become the peak purchasing quarter this year, and the purchase volume of OLED flat panels will exceed 3.9 million pieces, a month-on-month increase of 127% and a year-on-year increase of 333%. Apple's production is expected to rise 246% month-on-month, with Huawei, Microsoft and Samsung also reporting growth.
Apple’s share is expected to jump to 72%, with Huawei in second place with a 13% share. Broken down into products, the 13" M4 iPad Pro is expected to lead for the second consecutive quarter with a share of 38%, followed by the 11.1" iPad Pro with a share of 34% and the Huawei Mate Pad Pro 13.2" in third place with a share of 38%. 5%.
