IOTA continues its transformation toward becoming a primary venue for builders, projects, and innovators within Web3.
Two New Integrations in IOTA EVM
Unveiled recently were the integration of Blast API (application programming interface) and the Rabby Wallet within the IOTA ecosystem. The updates aim to further unlock better accessibility, elevated convenience, enhanced network efficiency, and expand the use cases of the IOTA EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine).
Blast API
Blast API bridges powerful and reliable endpoints for dApps (decentralized applications) and their users. These endpoints open up an accessible gateway for accessing, interacting, extracting information, and executing functions of various blockchains at any place and at any time.
Blast API houses more than 90,000 endpoints on 82 networks and 41 chains as of writing. Among the mainstream chains it supports are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Base, Sui, Arbitrum, zkSync, and IOTA.
With its fusion with the IOTA EVM, Blast API helps reinforce the network’s stability and availability over time, which are factors vital to every decentralized ledger technology (DLT).
Rabby Wallet
IOTA EVM’s link with the Rabby Wallet optimizes the experience of users crossing over multiple chains. The platform developed by DeBank allows them to seamlessly move from one chain to another when operating DeFi (decentralized finance) applications on multiple chains at the same time.
In addition to this enhanced functionality, Rabby Wallet offers a guide via confirmation pop-ups to aid users in navigating through the complexities brought about by certain DeFi transactions and give them an understanding of what each transaction means. It also displays the estimated balance changes per transaction so users can keep track of their digital assets.
Moreover, Rabby Wallet screens each transaction for potential vulnerabilities. Its system alerts the user before signing up if it detects an anomaly, like previously attacked contracts or non-existent recipient addresses.
Lastly, Rabby Wallet is compatible with widely used hardware and mobile Web3 wallets. It supports the platforms of Ledger, Trezor, Fireblocks, Gnosis, Metamask, and Phantom, among others.
Tangle Community Treasury DAO Voting
Following the failed governance vote last March to restructure its Tangle Community Treasury DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) committee, IOTA proceeded to introduce two proposals to fill several positions within its Governance Forum.
The proposals recently passed the initial two phases of the governance process. With that, it is now asking Shimmer token holders for the final voting process. From June 17 to 25, they can cast their votes to elect a new Program Lead and four Shimmer Grant Committee members for the Treasury DAO.
Shimmer pointed out that the positions are vital in ensuring the efficiency and transparency of the community Tangle DAO treasury. Furthermore, the consensus decision is important in steering the direction of community-driven initiatives and guaranteeing the effective management of the ecosystem’s grants program.
