The Philips Hue app has been updated to version 5.19.0. The software, available for iOS and Android users, brings several new features to the brand’s smart home devices. Plus, there is support for recent releases; a list of products is not provided, but this is expected to include the Twilight lamp and Solo lightstrip.
Version 5.19.0 allows customers to group their motion and sensors and security cameras, allowing you to control and adjust them simultaneously. This tool is said to be particularly useful for users with devices spread across a large or unusually shaped area. Scenes have been enhanced, now adjusting to the various lights in your home and their uses; it seems that, for example,an overhead light or lamp could have different settings.
On top of this, there are improvements to the Go to sleep automation, with a new Sunset style and options to trigger the feature from a Hue Switch, iOS widget or through the app. The change log also notes new effects for “compatible lights”, but, unfortunately, these are not listed. These could be the Opal and Glisten effects, launched with the Festavia string lights, which were thought to have started rolling out to more products earlier this year. You can download the Philips Hue app version 5.19.0 from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
