New Xiaomi 15 leak hints at bigger battery, better camera, and same compact form factor as predecessor

There have been a good number of recent leaks about the Xiaomi 15 series, with the latest one sharing additional details about the upcoming Android flagship. Smart Pikachu, a well-known Weibo tipster, shared that the upcoming lineup will feature larger batteries than the predecessors.

More specifically, Smart Pikachu hinted that both the Pro and non-Pro Xiaomi 15 will have at least 5,000 mAh battery capacity. In comparison, the regular Xiaomi 14 (available on Amazon) features a 4,610 mAh battery, while the Pro has a 4,880 mAh capacity. So, both the upcoming Android flagship phones could see a proper upgrade in this regard.

What’s rather interesting is that the Xiaomi 15 is said not to be larger than the Xiaomi 14, even with the battery upgrade. If this stands true, the upcoming non-Pro model could be a hard-to-beat compact smartphone with a large-sized battery.

Besides the battery, Smart Pikachu shares that the standard phone of the lineup is currently being tested with a variable aperturemain camera. This, again, would be a big upgrade for the vanilla Xiaomi 15. Worth noting that previous leaks hinted at a triple 50 MP setup on the back, with the primary one being a 1/1.3-inch sensor.

Speaking of earlier leaks, Digital Chat Station, another well-known Weibo tipster, sharedthat the Xiaomi 15 would be maxing out at 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. Other expected features include a 1.5K screen and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
