The Apple Watch Ultra 2 (curr. $749 on Amazon) remains one of the most expensive smartwatches around, save for niche options like the TAG Heuer Connected or Garmin's most premium offerings. However, Apple could soon face competition from Samsung if new rumours about the Galaxy Watch Ultra are accurate. Allegedly, Samsung intends to offer the Galaxy Watch Ultra in a single 47 mm size, just like it did with the Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
As such, there will be no cheaper, smaller option, as there will be with the Galaxy Watch7. Instead, Samsung is said to have priced the Galaxy Watch Ultra for between $699 and $710, putting it way behind recent Galaxy Watch smartwatches and close to current Watch Ultra 2 pricing. Based on new images published by Ice Universe, it seems that the Galaxy Watch Ultra will ape the Watch Ultra series in other areas, too.
For example, the Galaxy Watch Ultra has a pronounced crown guard, just like the Watch Ultra and Watch Ultra 2. Additionally, Samsung has even included an orange accent to break up the mass of grey or silver, depending on the version chosen. With that being said, Samsung has been more liberal in its application of orange than Apple has to date.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch7 is rumoured to start at between $299 and $310. Please note that this price only applies to its 40 mm and non-cellular edition. Unfortunately, equivalent pricing for 44 mm and LTE versions has not surfaced yet, although we imagine that all variants will be available in Cream White, Forrest Green and Marble Grey colour options. Currently, Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra on July 10 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6, fresh in the wake of the arrival of the Galaxy Watch FE.
