HTC unveils U24 Pro with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC paired with 12 GB memory, 60 watt fast-charging, and a 50 MP primary camera
HTC, known primarily nowadays for its Vive VR headset, has added another member to its U-series, dubbed the U24 Proas teased earlier this month. Positioned as a mid-range competitor, the phone has been launched in Taiwan and will be available for a starting price of around $580. More or less, the smartphone gets most of the features you'd expect at this price point.
At its core, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC paired with 12 GB of memory. With 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, the SoC manages a respectable multi-core score of 3,129 in Geekbench 6, while the Adreno 720 iGPU handles the graphics. In terms of internal storage, the U24 Pro gets 256 GB of UFS 3.1. If that appears insufficient for some reason, a microSD slot is present for any further expansion.
As for the display, a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate is included. Thanks to a resolution of 1080x2436, a pixel density of ~388 is achieved. On the back, the U24 Pro gets a triple camera setup which includes a 50 MP sensor for the primary shooter, an 8 MP ultrawide, as well as a 50 MP telephoto lens. For selfie lovers, a 50 MP front-facing camera is on offer with a hole-punch layout.
Other features of the HTC U24 Pro include a 4,600 mAh battery with up to 15 W of wireless and 60 W of wired charging along with 5 W reverse-charging support, a fingerprint sensor, and surprisingly enough - a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone will hit shelves in Taiwan starting June 30, but a global rollout is not confirmed as of now.
