Yesterday’s news, OKX officially announced that after careful consideration of its business development prospects, it decided to withdraw OKX HK’s application for a VASP license in Hong Kong.

OKX stated that starting from May 31, 2024 (Friday), OKX will stop providing centralized virtual asset trading services to Hong Kong users in accordance with regulatory requirements, and the relevant arrangements will not affect currency withdrawal services. OKX emphasizes that users do not need to worry about the security of their funds. After May 31, OKX will only support Hong Kong users for currency withdrawal operations, while OKX Web3 (self-hosted wallet) product services will not be affected and will continue to provide services to Hong Kong users.

According to information from the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission, in addition to OKX HK, Hong Kong VAEXC Limited also withdrew its application on the 24th.
