According to news from this site on May 16, LG Display demonstrated a series of advanced display technologies at SID Display Week 2024, including an OLEDoS (Micro OLED) display panel for VR with a brightness of 10,000 nits.

This tiny panel is only 1.3 inches in size, roughly the same size as a coin. In addition to 10,000 nits of brightness, it also has a "4K-level" 4000ppi resolution and achieves more than 97% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The main benefit of this micro-display is that it can achieve such high brightness LG Display has introduced micro lens array technology MLA (Micro Lens Array) on this product, reducing the consumption of light caused by internal reflection of the panel through micro convex lenses.

LG Display also showed off a similarly 1.3-inch OLEDoS panel for smartwatches. This watch panel not only reaches 4K high resolution but also supports Light Field Display (Note from this site: light field display), which can achieve naked-eye 3D visual effects in a tiny size. At this exhibition, LG Display also exhibited a series of automotive display solutions, including thinner and more price-competitive ATO (Advanced Thin OLED) products, double-layer tandem OLED Panel and LTPS LCD naked eye 3D instrument panel.

In terms of transparent OLED display technology, LG Display has

increased the panel transparency from 45% to 60%

by further optimizing the structure of pixels and driver accessories.
