Yu Chengdong has previously announced that the current number of Hongmeng ecological devices exceeds 800 million, and the brand awareness is as high as 88%. In just one month, more than 20 million users upgraded to HarmonyOS 4.2, and user satisfaction increased by 11%.

In early April this year, Huawei officially released data showing that more than 4,000 applications have joined the Hongmeng ecosystem.

Compared with the first batch of 200 applications announced on January 18, this means that the number of Hongmeng native applications has increased 20 times in just two months.

Previously, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun announced an ambitious plan: to fully migrate 5,000 commonly used mobile phone applications to the Hongmeng operating system within one year.

He expressed the hope that by 2024, more than 5,000 applications accounting for more than 99% of mobile phone usage time in the Chinese market will be completely migrated to the Hongmeng native operating system to achieve the unification of the operating system and application ecosystem.

According to Xu Zhijun: “When we migrate these 5,000 applications and thousands of other applications from the Android ecosystem to the Hongmeng operating system, the Hongmeng operating system will truly become the only operating system besides Apple iOS and Google. The world’s third mobile operating system after Android.”
