商业软件巨头甲骨文正在开发给数据库管理员设定访问限制的新软件。甲骨文高级主管Wynn White称,将于下月推出的新软件――Oracle Database Vault――将加强访问控制,帮助公司满足法令与隐私要求,并避免数据库受到有恶毒居心员工的破坏。
White说:“我们正从这些人手中取走通向帝国的钥匙。你希望能够让他们访问工作所需的信息,但你不希望他们接触其它的内容。”
Forrester研究机构的分析员Noel Yuhanna称,Database Vault将会很畅销,特别是那些包含私人数据的数据库更是需要此种软件。他估计使用中的数据库系统将有三分之一会应用此软件。他说:“企业希望他们的管理员管理数据库,而非数据。”
Yuhanna称甲骨文的此项新访问限制功能在数据库厂商中占领先地位。他说:“微软、IBM与Sybase都没有类似的产品。”但他又补充道,在不远的将来,竞争产品可能会提供相似的功能。
除数据库厂商加紧其数据库安全外,几家别的厂商,包括Guardium、Tizor和Crossroads系统也在提供监控数据存储访问的产品。这些公司也将其产品定位为法令服从解决方案。
甲骨文计划将Database Vault作为甲骨文数据库企业版的附赠品一起出售。其售价为每个处理器2万美元或每个用户400美元,并可与公司去年发行的无所不能数据库产品的最新版本――10g版Release 2――共同使用。
除了以附赠品的方式销售访问限制功能外,甲骨文也应把它包含在其核心数据库产品中。Yuhanna说:“许多顾客将会提出这一要求。如果微软与IBM以相似的价格提供类似的产品,或将这样的产品作为他们数据库的一部分,甲骨文也会这样做。”
除Database Vault外,周三,甲骨文计划发布一款对存储在数据库上的信息进行加密备份的新软件――Oracle Secure Backup.甲骨文称该软件能够加密数据,并将其复制到磁带存储设备上。甲骨文在一项声明中称,此软件可与各种版本的甲骨文数据库协同工作,现在即有售,每磁带驱动设备的售价为3000美元。
