　　现在越来越的数据库厂商，例如：SAP、Oracle正在向商业智能发展，通过对现有的数据分析、挖掘以预测未来市场发展曲线。“SQL Server 2008已经摆脱只是数据库工具形象，而要成为新一代智能的数据平台”微软(中国)服务器产品业务群总监符国新表示。

　　10月，SQL Server2008简体中文版将在中国正式上市，是至今为止最强大和最全面的SQLServer版本，相较于此前版本，SQLServer2008增加了很多新功能，例如：可以对整个数据库、数据文件和日志文件进行加密，而不需要改动应用程序;为了在线添加内存资源而扩展SQLServer中的已有的支持，热添加CPU使数据库可以按需扩展。事实上，CPU资源可以添加到SQLServer2008所在的硬件平台上而不需要停止应用程序。

　　SQL Server2008CTP(共享技术预览)版推出至今，已经有全球超过45万客户和合作伙伴对其下载，开发超过75项大型应用，并由近1000家ISV开发出超过1350项应用程序。在中国，包括广州建委、厦门银行、四川移动以及天狮集团都已经部署了SQLServer2008。

　　谈及SQL Server 之前版本升级到SQL Server2008的过程，微软(中国)服务器产品业务群SQLServer产品市场经理郝雪莹介绍说这一过程非常简单：“微软所有的管理基本都会提供图形化的界面，用户可以根据分析报告，按照指示就可以升级了。如果用户以前用的是其它厂商的产品，微软会提供"迁移帮助"工具，同样出一个报告，对历史的数据库做一个评估，指示用户逐步完成迁移，帮助用户将旧有系统升级以最优化的方式平滑升级到SQLServer2008中。”

　　SQLServer是微软应用平台中一个关键组成部分，在发布企业版的同时，还将提供适用于中小型应用规模的标准版、工作组版、以及180天试用的评估版及免费的学习版。
